Vanilla (V. PLANIFOLIA) is a flavoring derived from orchids of the genus Vanilla, primarily from the Mexican species, flat-leaved vanilla .The majority of the world's vanilla is the V. planifolia species, more commonly known as Bourbon vanilla.
